Volunteers

The Tustin Area Museum offers a wide range of rewarding and enriching ways to get involved! Explore below to learn more about ways to contribute your time.

Museum Docent

You can pick your hours and how much you can volunteer your time. We're happy to train you on the displays and all the cool artifacts we have in the museum. A basic knowledge of Tustin would be good, but as long as you look forward to meeting people, we're happy to give you all the info you need to help our guests.  We usually have a very experienced docent on duty to help you as needed.  We're only open three days a week for a few hours each day.  We'd be happy to have you with us!

Museum Greeter

Your only requirement is a smiling attitude and a desire to share the museum with our guests. We're happy to show you all you need to know for simple questions from our guests. We're open three days a week for limited hours, but you can pick the hours that work for you.

Intern Researcher

If history "is your game" and you'd like to research various topics or events in Tustin Area history, we'd love to have you on our team.  We use Ancestry.com and other online and paper-based references.  If you'd like to learn how to do this and have the time to help, we're also willing to train you.

Archive Assistant

We're always in need of assistance to help go through our collection of images, scan them, and enter them into our PastPerfect database.  Also, you can help some of the other tasks our main research team does.  This is a great learning experience.  We're open three days a week, but you can work with us as your schedule allows.

Home & Garden Tour Docent

When we hold our annual Old Town Tustin Home & Garden Tour, we are always in need of docents at the various houses and event locations.  We will help you learn all the things you need to know and you'll always be working with others.  We're just looking for helpful people who want to help others enjoy our local history.
