The Tustin Area Historical Society presents The Historic Yorba Cemetery: Orange County’s Oldest on Wednesday, November 9th from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Tustin Library Auditorium.
OC Parks employee Melanie Gross, will speak about the history of the Yorba Cemetery (in Yorba Linda) and the Yorba and Peralta families. The Yorba family rancho was donated to the county and used as a cemetery from 1862 to 1939.
Melanie, and her mother Ann Nepsa, have been researching the cemetery for many years and they have been working to identify the early Orange County area families who are buried there and, in some case, locating the graves. Melanie leads the OC Parks tours at the Yorba Cemetery.
This presentation is a general meeting of the Tustin Area Historical Society and admission is free. The library is located at 345 E Main St, between Newport and Prospect. Please arrive a bit early. For more information, call the Museum office during open hours at (714) 731-5701.
