The Tustin Area Historical Society features historian Tim Zierer discussing the history of contractor William Bowman who built homes and other buildings in the Tustin area on Friday night, October 6th from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Tustin Area Museum.

William H. Bowman was one of the premier building contractors in Tustin and Santa Ana for over 50 years. In partnership with Samuel I. Preble for many years, Bowman built the first high school in Tustin, the Tustin Presbyterian Church, as well as numerous beautiful homes in Tustin, at least 10 of which still stand today.

In 1920 he partnered with Samuel Preble with their first project on an auto garage on 5th Street in Santa Ana. They remained partners for 40 years and erected several of the iconic buildings and homes in Tustin and Santa Ana.

Tustin historian Tim Zierer has been researching Bowman, his work, and his family and will share what he found of one of Tustin’s premier early and mid-century builder.

October’s Night at the Museum starts at 7:00 pm at the Museum, 395 El Camino Real. Tickets for the event are $20 each ($15 for current members) and must be purchased in advance. Our Night’s usually sell out, so early purchase is recommended. No tickets will be sold at the door.
